I have been around dogs for all of my life, I was brought up in a family that always had pets and amongst ponies, rabbits, guinea pigs and cats we always had dogs. Having wanted a Malamute since childhood but only really knowing them through books and occasional sightings, I got my first real taster of them when Stuart and I visited a kennel in 1990. We agreed that we had to have one in our family but we decided that due to our work and travel commitments at that time we should wait. We were finally in a position to offer a stable home to a Malamute when I started working from home, after completing our research we joined lists in early 1999 and waited …… The wait finally came to an end in 2001 when Indy came to join us. We originally had hoped for just one pet Mal, but, before the wait was over and while spectating at shows for a couple of years we thought it would be a good idea to enter this world. Once we owned one Malamute we soon realised that having one just really wasn't enough and so Milo joined us. Since broadening our interest in sled dogs in general we found we were also drawn to the Greenland Dog, hence Otis joined our ever growing pack. If that wasn't enough we have since homed Nova the Mal, Grit the Greenland, Emerly, Onyx, Nero & Minx the Mals, the yearning hasn't stopped there either as we already have plans for more. As mentioned I currently show all of our dogs to great success, although Nova hasn't been shown as much as the others due to her lack of interest in showing. Her interest lies in agility and she is proving that Mals can do it and can do it well!. The dogs are all enjoying recreational runs in harness, we also have panniers and backpack with them around some lovely walks, we are also just starting out with weight pull training. All of our dogs are exercised daily, we alternate with road walking, free running in our 2 acre paddock, biking & working each day to keep them content.
